Residents asked to give input on future of bank building

About 50 people attended Monday evening’s Community Re-Visioning Forum for the former SunTrust bank building in Gloucester. The open house-style even, held in the colonial courthouse, was hosted by the Gloucester Main Street Preservation Trust and the Gloucester Revolving Loan Fund, which recently purchased the century-old building.

Members of the public were greeted with several poster boards detailing the history of the building and why a feasibility study is taking place on its revitalization. Then, those who attended were cast their votes for first, second and third choice of what they would like to see for the future of the building.

Various concept boards that were displayed showed what the building may be like as a hotel, mixed use and the arts.
