Jan Towne of Read, Rise and Shine reads the book “A Good Deed Can Grow” to second grade students in Delo Bloomfields’s class at Mathews Elementary School on Nov. 13 in recognition of World Kindness Day. Read, Rise and Shine, with financial support from the Mathews Rotary Club and Friends of the Mathews Memorial Library, gave a book on kindness to every student at the school. After listening to the books, students participated in a kindness project coordinated by the school’s guidance counselor, Erin Hockenberry.
