RAYMOND (RAY) FLEET BARRACK JR.

Raymond (Ray) Fleet Barrack Jr., 80, of Mathews, Virginia, passed away on Monday, Nov. 8, 2021.

He graduated from Lancaster High School and VCU. He retired from Safeway as store manager after 24 years. He then owned and operated Barrack’s Great Value in Mathews for 10 years, and later established Barrack’s Properties. He was a member of the Gwynn’s Island Church of the Nazarene.

He was predeceased by his parents, Raymond F. Barrack Sr. and Camille Davis Barrack, and his brother-in-law, Robert (Bobby) Abbott.

He is survived by his children, JoElle Harvey (Mark), Keith Barrack (Carrie), Marshall Barrack (Stacey), Sabrina Barrack, and Robyn Barrack; six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren, and sister, Dianne Abbott.

A Celebration of Life service will be held at the Gwynn’s Island Church of the Nazarene in Hudgins, Va., at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 20, 2021, with burial to follow at H. C. Smither Memorial Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, P.O. Box 22324, New York, N.Y. 10087 or the Mathews Volunteer Rescue Squad, 94 Cricket Hill Road, Hudgins, Va. 23076.
