Raymond A. Denson, 72, of Gloucester, died Oct. 5, 2021.

He was a native of Smithfield, Virginia, and a Gloucester resident since 2003. He was a member of Samuel Word of Freedom Ministry and a retiree of Newport News Shipbuilding.

Survivors include his wife, Lady Denson; mother, Mae Rose Denson-Alexander; daughters, Cynthia, LaTonya and Maelya; son, Quincy; sister, Betty Parker; brother, James Alexander Jr.; three grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by sisters, Patricia Denson-Everett and Margaret Young.

A memorial service will be held at noon on Sunday, Oct. 24 in the Moody’s Event Center in the White Marsh Shopping Center, White Marsh. Everyone is encouraged to wear masks and observe social distancing guidelines.
