Chuck Harris of the Abingdon Ruritan Club presented a $500 donation to Rebecca White, assistant professor of nursing at Rappahannock Community College, to help support the initial startup for the Remote Area Medical (RAM) effort. RAM is a nonprofit organization that provides free dental, vision and medical services to area residents. On Nov. 12-13, services will be delivered by volunteer licensed professionals to an estimated 500 individuals from the Northern Neck and Middle Peninsula. The clinic will be held at Richmond County Elementary School in Warsaw. The Abingdon Club has supported similar efforts in the past with both donations and volunteer help.
