Raffle winner

Dave Sobush of Williamsburg, center, won a raffle for a painting of Walter Reed’s Birthplace surrounded by daffodils in bloom, with a ticket purchased during the Sept. 10 birthday celebration at the historic site in Belroi. Robin Marshall, the artist, received honorable mention in the Gloucester Daffodil Poster contest for this painting, and donated it to the Fairfield Foundation to assist in its preservation efforts at Reed’s Birthplace. Fairfield Foundation co-directors Thane Harpole, left, and Dave Brown, right, presented the painting to Sobush at the foundation’s headquarters and offices, the Center for Archaeology, Preservation, and Education in the restored Edgehill Service Station. Prints of the work are also available for purchase, a release said.
