The Gloucester Department of Emergency Management and the Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) will hold its annual Preparedness Expo in the Gloucester Home Depot parking lot from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. The event is organized annually by Brian Altland.
“We have free hot dogs, popcorn, water,” said Emergency Management Coordinator Jane Wenner.
There will be several organizations providing information and resources to families, including the Virginia State Police, Virginia Department of Emergency Management, American Red Cross, Gloucester Volunteer Fire & Rescue Squad, Abingdon Volunteer Fire and Rescue, Gloucester County Sheriff’s Office, Tidewater Search and Rescue, Virginia Department of Forestry, Virginia Department of Transportation, Three Rivers Health District, Fingar Safety Services, Rappahannock Community College, Civil Air Patrol, and the Middle Peninsula Amateur Radio Club.
“It’s going to be a really good event,” said Wenner.
