PATRICIA ANN CHESSER SHEEHAN

Patricia Ann Chesser Sheehan, 65, of Hayes, passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday, Nov. 24, 2021, after a long illness. Patty was born in Bethesda, Md., on Jan. 21, 1956, the second child of Barbara Harris Chesser and William Rock Chesser of Wilmington, N.C.; both predeceased her.

Patty is survived by her loving husband of 25 years, Mark Sheehan of Hayes; her sister, Catherine C. Wilt of Newtown Square, Pa.; her brother, W. Warren Chesser (Tania) of Green Cove Springs, Fla.; three sisters-in-law; one brother-in-law, and 14 nieces and nephews. Mrs. Sheehan graduated in 1974 from Phoenixville Area High School (Pa.) where she was active in the marching band, concert band, and musical theater. She was an accomplished flutist, pianist, and singer. She performed in “My Fair Lady” and marched in the Indianapolis 500 Parade. Patty attended Frostburg College (now State University) and worked in several industries during her career including NASA, Hampton University, and Virginia Marine Resources Commission. She also was a ski instructor in Colorado, a chef on oil platform supply boats in the Gulf of Mexico, logistics support at the Naval Air Station, and a volunteer at the VA hospital. Patty took great joy in her hobbies: sailing, Civil War reenactment, sewing and cross-stitch, cooking, and spending time with her dear cocker spaniels, “Bonnie,” “Katie,” and “Pixie.” The family received friends on Tuesday, Nov. 30, 2021, from 6-7:30 p.m. at Hogg Funeral Home. A funeral service was held on Dec. 1, 2021 at Hogg Funeral Home at 11 a.m., with interment at Rosewell Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
