Oh those pies! And all the wonders of the Book-Author Luncheon

The annual Book-Author Luncheon of the York River Circle of The King’s Daughters and Sons got its start in 1993. In 2023 it is still being produced and has become the function no one wants to miss. Hospitality, good cooking, entertainment and 100+ slices of pie which greet you at the entrance door make a lovely day. What more could one ask?

It its 30 years, there have been just two when the luncheon was not held: 2020 and 2021 due to Covid epidemic. However, by 2022 things seemed to improve. By switching to a fall instead of spring celebration, the luncheon returned. And again, the members proved that they are excellent cooks (they prepared all the foods); that they are gracious waitresses (they do all the table service), that they are magnificent decorators (pumpkins and more pumpkins adorned each table this year); and are the best at making pies.
