Offices, schools close for Thanksgiving

All courts and county offices in Gloucester and Mathews closed for the Thanksgiving holiday at noon on Wednesday, Nov. 21, and will remain closed through Friday.

Post offices, ABC stores and waste facilities in the two counties will be closed Thanksgiving Day only.

Gloucester libraries closed at 2 p.m. on Wednesday and will remain closed Thursday and Friday, reopening for normal hours on Saturday. Mathews Memorial Library closed at noon on Wednesday and will remain closed through the weekend, reopening on Monday.

All local schools closed for the holiday on Wednesday and will remain closed today and Friday, opening for regular hours on Monday.

DMV customer service centers will be closed Thursday through Saturday, Nov. 22-24, but customers may take advantage of more than 40 transactions available online, such as renewing vehicle registrations, at dmvNOW.com.
