All courts, county offices, DMV customer service centers in Gloucester and Mathews will be closed Monday and Tuesday in observance of the New Year’s holiday.

Gloucester libraries will be closed Monday and Tuesday, as well, while Mathews Memorial Library will be closed Saturday through Tuesday, Dec. 29-Jan. 1.

Post offices will be closed only on Tuesday, New Year’s Day.

Convenience centers in Gloucester will be open from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. on New Year’s Eve, while the landfill will be open from 7 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. All waste facilities in Gloucester will be closed on New Year’s Day.

The Mathews Transfer Station will be closed on New Year’s Day for the holiday, followed by its regular closing on Wednesday.

ABC stores in both counties will be open from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. on New Year’s Eve and from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on New Year’s Day. ...
