All Gloucester and Mathews county offices, circuit courts, and DMV customer service centers will be closed today and Friday in observance of New Year’s Day. District courts in the two counties closed at noon yesterday and will remain closed today and Friday.

Gloucester libraries will close at 5 p.m. on New Year’s Eve and remain closed Thursday and Friday, but will be open for the weekend. The Mathews Memorial Library will be closed today through Sunday.

Post offices in both counties closed yesterday and remain closed on today, reopening on Friday.

ABC stores, the Mathews Transfer Station, Gloucester’s waste facilities and the E-ZPass office will be closed today only. ...
