Nothing stops Anna Jane Parker’s kitchen talents

Our readers are very kind and often suggest cooks for this column. Here is one received recently:

“I read the Gazette with interest every week and enjoy and learn from your article especially. I would like to suggest that you consider doing a column on Anna Jane Parker. Ms. Parker is the mother of two handicapped children and is raising her handicapped grandson. She is an amazing woman and a talented baker.

“She started baking gifts for me when I became her son’s pediatrician over 15 years ago. She bakes for her kids’ classes (and the teachers) and when she sells things at bake sales she donates the money to special education in the schools. For a number of years she has baked a pound cake for me to bring to the Riverside Convalescent Center once a month. My church does a communion service there and we share the cake after.

“She is inspiring and talented and good.
