NAMI youth support group forming

The National Alliance on Mental Illness Mid-Tidewater is sponsoring a new Youth M.O.V.E. peer support group. The acronym stands for “Motivating Others through Voices of Experience.”

The first session will be held from 6-8 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 15, at the Gloucester Peer Resource Center, 7603 Hospital Drive, Gloucester. Subsequent meetings will be held the first and third Wednesday of each month at the resource center.

This is a trained peer-led support and activity group, said a press release. It is geared to bring together youths and young adults age 16-24 to help build support through stressful and emotional situations.
