‘Music on Maple Ave’ to be held May 3

The Mathews Visitor and Information Center and the Mathews County Historical Society will be co-hosting the first “Music on Maple Ave” event, scheduled for Friday, May 3, from 6-9 p.m.

The event, held on the day before Mathews May Faire, will take place within Mathews Memorial Library courtyard, with attendees receiving two beverages and a souvenir cup in addition to live musical performances.

Bands include local act VW Old Time as well as Charlottesville-based folk musicians Tara Mills and Jimmy Stelling. Shore Bites food truck will be on hand with food available for purchase. While tickets are almost sold out, a few remaining tickets can be purchased for $25 at the visitor center.

This event is to benefit the two 501(c)(3) organizations’ historically registered buildings in Mathews Court House, both of which neighbor the library courtyard that will play host to the event. MCVIC is the tenant of the Sibley’s General Store, built in 1898, and MCHS owns the Th...
