Sidney Read of Mathews was the winner of the 2018 Mathews Market Days Poster Contest. His winning entry, “Moments in Mathews,” is a wood burning, enhanced with paint, pencil, and ink. Read received a $650 award for his piece, copies are available for purchase as a limited edition, numbered and signed poster for $25 at the Bay School and the Visitor Center. It will also be displayed on the cover of the Mathews County Visitor and Information Center 2019 “FYI Mathews” publication.
