Miss Guinea Jubilee, grand marshal to be unveiled this weekend

The Guinea Jubilee grand marshal will be named and Miss Guinea Jubilee will be crowned at a pair of events this weekend at the Abingdon Ruritan Club building, Bena.

The weekend events begin with the Miss Guinea Jubilee Pageant on Saturday afternoon. Check-in will take place from 1:30 to 2 p.m., with the pageant starting at 3 and the winners crowned beginning at 5.

Winners will be crowned in the following age divisions: Baby Miss (0-23 months), Toddler Miss (2-4 years), Little Miss (5-7 years), Junior Miss (8-10 years), Preteen Miss (11-13 years), Teen Miss (14-16 years), Miss Guinea Jubilee (17-24 years, unmarried or non-mothers) and Ms. Guinea Jubilee (18-30 years, married or mothers).

The grand marshal of the Guinea Jubilee will be announced on Sunday during Guinea Heritage Day, with doors open at 1:30 p.m. The program begins at 2.
