MHS runners take first in away meet

The Mathews High School cross country team came in first place last Wednesday, Sept. 15, at the King Carter Course in Lancaster. Both the boys’ and girls’ teams won the meet with a team score of 21.

Cameron Stearns came in first with a time of 18:49, followed by Seth James who ran a 21:15 and Carson Brown who finished the meet with a time of 21:23.

Henry Sowers (JV) ran a 22:23, followed by Andrew Greve (22:23), Dylan White (22:38), Gavin Dustin (22:44), Grayson Camp (22:47), Jaxon McDonald (23:05), Blake Hunley (JV) (23:20), Salvador Cardenas (JV) (23:27), Noah Hurst (JV) (25:11), Zachary Salvadori (JV) (26:14), Adam Dustin (JV) (26:32), Franklin Cardenas (JV) (27:08), Fabian Cardenas (27:08), Chance Higginbotham (JV) (27:12), Elias Hidalgo (JV) (27:14), James Daniels (JV) (27:21), Adam Greve (JV) (28:51) and James Allen Morgan (JV) (35:36).
