Mathews Museum to hold annual meeting Monday

The Mathews Historical Museum will hold its annual meeting at 6 p.m. Monday at the museum building located at 198 Main Street, Mathews Court House.
“Our goal is to give Mathews County a permanent historical museum that remembers and honors the many resilient people who called this county their home,” board chairman John Caramia said. “It is our privilege to attempt this massive undertaking and we could never do it without public support.” He said all current members and persons interested in the museum are invited to attend.
According to Caramia, while the museum still has “a long way to go” in getting established, it accomplished a great deal over the past year, including its second successful May Faire, sponsoring performances of “Crickets on a Hill” as a fundraiser, and moving into the museum’s new building.
