Mathews Historical Museum seeks photos of local veterans

The Mathews Historical Museum is seeking photographs of county residents, past and present, and their family members, who have served in the military.

The museum, which is under development at 198 Main Street, will gather a digital collection of these photographs.

Museum chair John Caramia said a display will be mounted as well. “We ask that you share your photographs of Mathews residents, those who served in the military, past and present,” said Caramia. “Photos may be dropped off at the Visitor Center, clearly marked, in an envelope, with the following: your name, address and telephone number; the name, service branch and rank of the person in the photograph, with any memory if possible. The photos will be scanned and returned to the owners.”

Caramia said the museum will be open occasionally with no fixed schedule until upgrades to the building are completed.  ...
