An open house will be held from 9:30 a.m.-5 p.m. Saturday at the Mathews Historical Museum, 198 Main Street.

A release said visitors are invited to visit the museum, which is in development, and to enjoy refreshments and purchase handmade wreaths and other Christmas items.

During this year the museum has been selling chances on original artworks by Pam Manz, Theresa Edwards Morgan, and Gib Pulley. Santa Claus is slated to stop by the museum at 4:30 or shortly thereafter to draw the names of the winners, the release said. ...
