The Mathews Broadband Advisory Board is seeking information from Mathews residents about their need for high speed, reliable internet access.
All residents 18 and older are asked to complete a 10–15 minute online survey, and they could win a $250 gift card just for doing it.
Questions on the survey range from whether the respondent has home internet service and how much it costs to their use of the internet for various purposes. There are also questions about such things as whether the service is a necessity or whether costs are too high.
The survey is part of a Virginia Affordability and Adoption Planning Grant awarded to the county by the Virginia Department of Housing and Community Development. Broadband consultant Tyler Beekhoo of Broadband-Telecom said in a letter to community organizations that the survey and other outreach efforts by the advisory board are part of an initiative to enhance digital access in the community.
