Mathews board approves zoning matters during Nov. 18 meeting

The Mathews County Board of Supervisors unanimously approved two zoning-related requests after public hearings during their meeting on Tuesday, Nov. 18.

William T. and Susan B. Eley were granted a conditional use permit to operate a temporary reception facility at 929 Williams Wharf Road for small weddings, receptions, family reunions and company meetings.

Leandra S. Doane was granted a rezoning from business to residential for a property on Buckschase Road on Gwynn’s Island in order to allow a single-family dwelling at the site, which was previously part of a campground.

In addition, the board unanimously voted to approve a request by developer Michael Rowe that he be allowed to connect the Hampton Roads Sanitation District sewer line to two parcels that are immediately outside the sanitary district.
