Master Center to hold ribbon cutting tonight

The Master Center for Addiction Medicine will hold a ribbon cutting at its new office on Gloucester Main Street at 5:30 tonight, Thursday, Sept. 15.

The Master Center had been operating in temporary office space in Gloucester since early 2021, but opened its own office in May, located in Edgehill Town Center. The organization specializes in a multidisciplinary approach to treat the lifelong disease of addiction.

CEO of the Master Center Anna McKean explained that the multidisciplinary approach the center uses is a combination of psychiatry, medical professional expertise and support from state certified peer recovery specialists. She said the first step for new patients is to become medically stable before working through a long-term treatment plan.

Treatment plans are based on evidence-based medical procedures and are uniquely made for each client. A factor in all of their treatment plans involve both individual and group therapy. McKean said group therapy is a key component...
