Margaret Louise McMahan Watts, age 75, of Hayes, died on Oct. 12, 2021, surrounded by family. Margaret was born on March 10, 1946, to John and Pauline McMahan in North Carolina. In her free time, Margaret could be found gardening, reading, relaxing in the sun, or spending time with her much-loved family. Margaret also enjoyed treating herself to a day at the salon, getting her nails or hair done. Margaret was preceded in death by her husband, Eugene Watts; her parents, John and Pauline Griffith McMahan, and sister, Linda Cabe.

Margaret is survived by her daughter, Tracey Ann Malarkey (David), and granddaughter, Kayla Kennedy Malarkey. She is also survived by her brother, Donald McMahan. Her nieces and nephews, Nancy McElligott (Ray), David Jefferson (Kathy), John Jefferson (Lisa), Michelle Duffy (Chris), Michael McMahan (Krista), Tricia Cappiello, Mike Upton, Linda Bruce, and numerous much-loved great-nieces and great-nephews, including special great-niece Belinda Smith and great-nephew, A.J. Jefferson, survive her. Margaret’s daughter, Tracey, would like to say a very special thank you to her beloved cousin, Nancy, for taking such good care of Margaret this last year or so of her life. A Celebration of Life service, conducted by Pastor Kevin Thompson, was held at White Marsh Baptist Church on Sunday, Oct. 17, 2021, at 2 p.m., followed by a reception in the church social hall.
