MARCIA WHITEARD JENKINS

Marcia Whiteard Jenkins, 82, of Tappahannock, died on Thursday, Oct. 20, 2022. A resident and active member of the Tappahannock community, Mrs. Jenkins owned and operated The Business Center, Inc., for 35 years. She also served as past President of the Essex County Junior Woman’s Club, Tappahannock-Essex Chamber of Commerce, as well as the Virginia Office Products Association. Marcia was the Treasurer of Trinity United Methodist Church for 25 years, board member of Aylett Country Day School and also served on the Tappahannock Town Council for 20 years, as well as past Vice Mayor. Marcia is survived by her daughter, Kimberly Cooke (Bruce); sons, Mark Jenkins and Matthew Jenkins (Christy); grandchildren, Tyler Durham, Kyle Durham (Jennifer), Kelly Durham, Rebecca Jenkins (Steve) and Brandon Horsley; great-grandchildren, Jay Coulter Bishop, Jacob Blaine Durham, Morgan Elizabeth Durham and soon to be blessed with Landon Conway Feigen. She was preceded in death by her husband and father of her children, Conway G. Jenkins; parents, Bill “Tex” and Louise Whiteard; grandparents, Jacob and Ethel Gherman of Colonial Beach, Va., and Luther and Martha Whiteard of Jena, La.; one brother, Ronald G. Whiteard, and second husband, M. Vernon Wrenn. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, Oct. 28, 2022, at Faulkner Funeral Homes, Marks Bristow Chapel, Tappahannock, with Pastor Paulette Almond conducting. Interment will follow at Trinity United Methodist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5:30-7:30 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 27 at the funeral home.
