LUCILLE ATHERTON LARIOS

Lucille Atherton Larios of Mathews, Va., was quietly called home to God on Sunday, April 7, 2013.

She was born Oct. 1, 1926 in Olyphant, Pa., to the late Suzanne and John Walters. She spent all of her childhood years surrounded by her family in Rome, N.Y. Residing most of her adulthood life in Belleville, N.J., she moved to Hallieford, Va., in 2006 where she had vacationed with family and friends for more than 60 years after retiring from Clara Mass Hospital in Belleville.

She was an active lifelong member of Wesley United Methodist Church in Belleville, and a 60-year Eastern Star member.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 31 years, Maywood Greene Atherton of Hallieford, and her husband of 20 years, Anthony Larios of Belleville.

Lucille leaves to cherish her memory three children: two daughters, Suzanne Peterson and her husband Dick of Westfield, N.J., and Hedwig Pettinger and her husband Wes of Richardson, Texas; a son, John Robert Atherton of Hallie-
ford, and a step-son, Richard Larios and his wife Cathy of Harwich, Mass.; sisters-in-law, Pauline Hurst and Beulah Sadler; nephew, Byron Thomas, and niece, Joy Bowden and her husband Billy.

The family will receive friends on Friday, April 12, 2013, from 6:30-8 p.m., with an Eastern Star Service at 7 o’clock, at Foster-Faulkner Funeral Home, Mathews. A funeral service will be held Saturday, April 13, 2013, at 12 p.m. at Mathews Chapel United Methodist Church with burial to follow at Haynes Cemetery.

All who were lucky enough to have known her, loved her and her memory, she will live forever in their hearts, thoughts and prayers.
