All courts and county offices in Gloucester, along with district court in Mathews, will be closed next Thursday and Friday in observance of the Christmas holiday. They will reopen for regular hours on Monday, Dec. 27.

Mathews County Circuit Court and the county’s offices won’t close until Friday, Dec. 24 for the holiday, but they will remain closed through Monday, Dec. 27, resuming regular hours on Tuesday, Dec. 28.

Schools in both counties will be closed for the holiday beginning Monday, Dec. 20, and they will reopen on Jan. 3.

The main and Gloucester Point branches of the Gloucester Public Library will close at 5 p.m. daily Dec. 20-22 and will be closed Dec. 23-26 for the holiday, reopening on Dec. 27. Mathews Memorial Library will be closed Dec. 24-27, reopening on Tuesday, Dec. 28.
