Legacy of Gloucester Citizens

The Legacy of Gloucester Citizens held its Awards Luncheon on Tuesday, Nov. 14 at Olivia’s in the Village, Main Street, Gloucester. The Wagon Wheel Banquet held on Oct. 14 in Bena, celebrating the legendary Leon Gregory Sr., was a huge success resulting in a sell-out crowd. Proceeds from this event were shared to support three of Gloucester’s community programs. Dr. Wesley Wilson was present to receive $1,000 for the Woodville Foundation; the Rev. Kristie Askew accepted $1,000 on behalf of the Gloucester United Emergency Shelter Team (GUEST); and the Rev. Ward Warren received $1,500 for the Irene Morgan Scholarship. The banquet owed much of its success to sponsors Herbert Clements and Sons, Dr. William Evans, James and Wylonna Harris, Adrianne Joseph Cook, First Morning Star Baptist Church, and Shepherdsville Baptist Church. Taking part in the Awards Luncheon were, from left, Deloris Stokes, Pam Garner, Brenda Dixon, Dr. Wesley Wilson, the Rev. Kristie Askew, the Rev. Ward Warren and First Lady Cleo Warren, Richard Dixon and Sharon Washington. Members not pictured are Leon Gregory Jr., Marion Randall, and Steve and Kathy Greaves.
