Donations from the Garden Club of Gloucester and Mathews, and work from Green Planters and Sam Hudgins, created new landscaping earlier this month at the Woodville School, Ordinary. Durfee Betts, president of the garden club which donated $2,000 toward the purchase of plants, shrubs and bulbs, helped to plant the daffodil bulbs. A garden club and Woodville School board member matched the funds. Remaining greenery was installed by Kenny Weakland of Green Planters, and his crew. Sam Hudgins, a local plumber, installed a frost-free outdoor faucet to insure the plantings’ hydration. Woodville School is a former Rosenwald School for African American students, and is undergoing extensive renovation.
