LANA AMBROSIUS LORING

Lana Ambrosius Loring passed away peacefully on Dec. 24, 2020 at Gloucester House in Gloucester. She was born on Dec. 27, 1945 in Hanover, Pennsylvania, to Arthur and Marian Ambrosius. In 1968 she moved to Gloucester and began a teaching career that lasted 32 years. She was a graduate of Old Dominion University. She loved teaching, singing, playing golf, and helping people. A beautiful smile and infectious laugh along with her loving and compassionate nature made her a friend to everyone she met.

Lana was a member of the York River Circle of The King’s Daughters, Walter Reed Garden Club, Gloucester Retired Teachers Association, Gloucester County Friends of the Library, Bethany United Methodist Church, and the Gamma Nu chapter of Delta Kappa Gamma, where she was a member of the Tuneful Teachers. Lana was preceded in death by her parents, Arthur and Marian Ambrosius; brother, Ned Ambrosius, and niece, Andrea Neiderer.

She is survived by her loving husband of 46 years, Roger Loring; sister, Bonnie Miller of Hanover, Pennsylvania, and brother, Richard (Susan) Ambrosius of Spring Grove, Pennsylvania. She is also survived by nieces, Lena (Jeff) Gavazzi of Weedville, Pennsylvania, and Vanessa (John) Mahaney of Spotsylvania, Virginia; nephews, Chad (Kristel) Ambrosius of Traverse City, Michigan, and Shawn Ambrosius of New Oxford, Pennsylvania.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
