A Celebration of Life service for Judith Evans Leftwich, 83, of Yorktown, will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 19 at the Yorktown Monument. She died Saturday, Sept. 11, 2021.

She graduated from Rex’s School of Nursing in Raleigh, N.C., as an RN, and began her nursing career in the ER at Dixie Hospital in Hampton, retired from Eastern State Hospital as Quality Assurance Director, and continued on at Charter Behavioral Hospital in Lee Hall helping troubled teens.

She was a member of Coastal Community Church in York County.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, Ronald Leftwich Sr.; her parents, Moorefield and Annie Evans; her brothers, Russell Evans and Walter Stuart Evans, and an infant grandson.

Survivors include her sister, Elaine Amnott; daughters, Kimberley Childers and Lisa Stanton; son, Ronald Edward Leftwich Jr.; four grandchildren, and a great-grandson.
