John Allen “Jay” Harris, 64, entered eternal rest at his home in Gloucester on Nov. 15, 2020. He was the third of five children born to the late Arthur and Cora Harris of Gloucester.

He was raised in Gloucester County, and was a graduate of Gloucester High School.

He was employed by Dominion Flooring in Yorktown.

John was preceded in death by his wife, Charmaine Elizabeth Bowen Harris; brothers, Timothy Myron Harris and James Jackson Harris. He is survived by brothers, Arthur F. Harris Jr. (Cynthia) and Alfred L. Harris (Pamela); nephew, Monté Harris (Tiffany); great-nieces, Trinity and Taelyn Harris; uncle, Matt Jackson (Rose), and a host of other relatives and friends.

A viewing was held at Howard Funeral Home, Ark, on Friday from 6-8 p.m.

A private graveside service was held at 1 p.m. on Saturday in Rosewell Memorial Garden Cemetery.
