Jessie Lou Jenkins, age 77, of Hayes, passed away at her home on July 21, 2021. Jessie spent her years working for Eastern State Hospital, Crown Gas Station, and Lowes. She never met a stranger; by the time you ended your conversation Jessie would have it all figured out. She would know who you were and who all your family was as she was a lover of genealogy. Jessie is survived by her children, William P. Jenkins (Kim), Douglas Jenkins (Mary), and David K. Jenkins (Sharon); grandchildren, Tabitha, Kerrie, Brandon, Makayla, and great-grandchildren, Courtney, Kasie, Addison, Jase, and Aubrey. She is also survived by her beloved cat, Lucy. Jessie was preceded in death by her husband, William Preston Jenkins Sr. and her parents, Jessie and Dolly Sibley. A celebration of life service was held at Groves Memorial Presbyterian Church on Sunday, July 25, 2021, at 2 p.m. In memory of our loved one, contributions may be made to the Gloucester-Mathews Humane Society, P.O.
