In a daffodil daze, Camps to serve as this year’s grand marshals

The Gloucester County Daffodil Festival parade will be led by Jim and Susan Camp of Ordinary, and is scheduled to step off from Main Street Center at 10 o’clock Saturday morning. “I was really shocked and surprised,” said Susan about the couple’s selection. “We’re very honored to be doing this, to be chosen.” Jim and Susan have deep roots in the community. From first arriving in Gloucester more than 30 years ago as working adults to now volunteering for various organizations in retirement, the Camps have played a big role in making Gloucester what it is today. Both Susan and Jim are charter members of the Gloucester Daffodil Club. Gloucester is known as being the “Daffodil Capital of America,” but the Camps noticed Yorktown had more daffodils than Gloucester back in 2015. The first planting took place in the fall of 2018. Since then, more than 200,000 daffodil bulbs have been planted in Gloucester by the club. “We’ve planted at most of the schools in Gloucester County,” said Susan. Man...
