York River Circle of The King’s Daughters and Sons has invited the community to its meeting at 10 a.m. Tuesday, April 7, for a session on autism. The meeting will be held at Bethlehem United Methodist Church, Bena.
Sharon McGlohn, “who has dedicated years of service in this field,” will speak, a release said.
The circle is holding this event in connection with April as Autism Awareness Month. A release said autism, referring to a “broad range of conditions characterized by challenges with social skills, repetitive behaviors, speech and nonverbal communication” is a lifelong condition affecting 1 in 31 children and 1 in 45 adults.
