The cameo portrait image atop the marker for Medal of Honor recipient Pvt. James Daniel Gardner in the Gloucester court circle has disappeared. According to Quinton Sheppard with the county’s Community Engagement and Public Information office, “we believe it was the result of some of the storms several weeks back. The adhesive looks to have broken down.” Museum coordinator Robert Kelly has been working with Carter Funeral Home to replace the picture.
