A house fire occurred on New Quarter Farm Lane Sunday morning. According to Assistant Chief W.L. Johnston of Gloucester Volunteer Fire and Rescue, firefighters were dispatched at 11:34 a.m. and arrived on the scene with a tanker, three engines and a bus truck. Abingdon Volunteer Fire and Rescue supplied a tanker. They were there for just over three hours. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
