House fire

Gloucester Volunteer Fire and Rescue Squad responded to a house fire in the early-morning hours Wednesday on Millers Landing Road in the Woods Cross Roads area. According to Station 6 Chief W.L. Johnston, the homeowners were asleep when the fire started, but were able to evacuate through the front door. None of the residents sustained injuries, but the house was a total loss. GVFRS had mutual support form Abingdon Volunteer Fire and Rescue and Lower King and Queen Volunteer Fire Department, said Johnston.
