Spring is the time to get back into the garden again and tackle that home improvement project. And there’s an event next week designed to help you get motivated and maybe come up with an idea or two.

Xtra 99.1 and The Giving Garden Foundation will present the 12th annual XTRA Home and Garden Showcase from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, March 9, at the Gloucester Moose Lodge.

Admission is free. There will be a number of informational tables set up.

Participating vendors include LeafFilter; Fire & Water Company; Mr. Rogers Windows; Brent & Becky’s; Allstate Insurance; COVA Bay Farms; Paramount Builders; JES Foundation Repair; Clements Tent Rentals; Land & Coates; The Corner Cottage; The Closing Shop; OVM Annie-Mac; Hydrokeen and A/C Masters; Bay Window Wear; Virginia Shower & Bath, and Fun Fit Pools/Hunter’s Contracting.

Community organizations taking part include The Giving Garden; Gloucester-Mathews Humane Society; American Legion Post 75; Gloucester Master Gardeners; Marine Corps League/Toys for Tots; Ruritans, Zone 4, Chesapeake District; Gloucester Lions Club; Gloucester County Chamber of Commerce, and Middle Peninsula Master Naturalists.

Those attending are encouraged to bring empty aluminum cans to be recycled by the Giving Garden.
