The Virginia Department of Wildlife Resources will host several events during this coming weekend’s Free Fishing Days, including an event from 9 a.m. to noon Sunday at Williams Wharf Landing in Mathews. Agency staff and volunteers will be on site with rods and reels, terminal tackle and bait. The event is free and no registration is required. No fishing license of any kind will be required for recreational rod and reel fishing during free fishing days in both fresh and saltwater.
