Hearing Tuesday on Gloucester’s proposed CIP

The Gloucester Board of Supervisors will hold a public hearing on the proposed Capital Improvement Plan for fiscal years 2022 through 2026 during a 7 p.m. Tuesday work session electronic meeting. The full proposed CIP can be found at gloucesterva.info/1015/Budgets-Financial-Reports.

In the breakdown for the five-year CIP, county government project requests total $72.98 million. The largest project would require $40.4 million for a community center, which isn’t scheduled for payment or construction until at least year six. Other notable projects include dredging projects for Timberneck and Aberdeen creeks at $6 million and the construction of a new county library estimated at $5.6 million.
