Hearing Tuesday on comp plan update

Gloucester supervisors will hold a public hearing Tuesday on a resolution to update the county’s comprehensive plan, adding planning guidance for public utilities and public service corporations. The hearing will be held at the board’s monthly meeting, which begins at 7 p.m. in the colonial courthouse.

As reported earlier this month, the guidance provided by the update includes general or approximate location, character and extent of uses defined as “public service corporations” or “public utilities.” It also explains the criteria for evaluating these uses including guiding vision and future land use.

Also during the meeting, the board will continue its discussion on using American Rescue Plan Act funding. The county has received a total $7,254,411 in ARPA funds, getting half of that amount in FY 2022. This fiscal year the county received $3,627,205.
