Hampton man arrested following shooting at Hayes

A 39-year-old Hampton man was arrested and charged with shooting from a vehicle following an incident at Hayes last Wednesday night.

Around 8 p.m. on May 15, Gloucester Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to a residence in the 2500 block of Oakdale Court in reference to a person shooting from a vehicle. 

According to a Gloucester Sheriff’s Office report, multiple witnesses said a man got into his vehicle and drove out of the parking lot of the apartment complex and headed down Oakdale Court after a verbal argument with others at a party. During this time, the accused is said to have fired several shots from a firearm while driving his vehicle away from the residence. 

 

Deputies discovered spent bullet casings and broken vehicle glass, from the suspect’s vehicle, at the scene. Lt. Jamie Sharp said no bullets appeared to strike any persons or apartments at the scene and no injuries or damages were reported.
