Government computer group holds seminar at VIMS

Gloucester County was selected to be the location of the Vision Government Solutions User Group seminar, which was held last month at the Virginia Institute of Marine Science, Gloucester Point.

“It is my understanding this is the first time this event has been held outside of Richmond, and we were selected as host,” said Gloucester’s Assessor Derek Green. Green and his staff use Vision’s Computer-Assisted Mass Appraisal Software to assess properties in the county.

“Not only was this a training event, but the vendor is demonstrating a new state-of-the-art CAMA system—an unveiling of sorts,” Green added. 

Green said last month’s was the largest user group in Virginia yet; as 18 localities attended. According to Vision, over 54 assessors, appraisers and commissioners of the revenue were present.
