Breast cancer survivor Holly Oliver of Gloucester is one of a dozen Here For The Girls Calendar Ambassadors who will be featured on that organization’s 2024 calendar.
Here For The Girls supports women under the age of 51 who have been diagnosed with breast cancer. Oliver is looking to give back to the organization that has done so much in her healing process, taking part in the “A Calendar to Live By” fundraising campaign.
In June 2022, Oliver was diagnosed with Stage 3 breast cancer. During her journey, she was introduced to this organization that she said has changed her life. Here For The Girls is based in Williamsburg but serves young women across the nation.
“It is not only a calendar filled with women’s stories similar to mine, but also includes a health guide to help others recognize potential signs of breast cancer and give helpful tips,” said Oliver, who is the October 2024 Calendar Ambassador.
“Not only am I here to represent Here For The Girls, I am also representing my hometown,” she added. “Part of the Calendar Ambassadors’ duties are spreading awareness, lending a helping hand, and fundraising for our cause.”

Oliver has deep family roots in Gloucester, between Glass and Coke, she said. “Some of you may know my late grandparents—Mary and Harry Eagle (huge in the bowling leagues right here in Gloucester at the old bowling alley) and Daniel Oliver (a previous Coleman Bridge tender).” She has also been a member of Severn Church for about a year.
