Gloucester to ‘Paint the Town Purple’ Friday

In conjunction with Saturday’s annual Walk to End Alzheimer’s at BethPage Camp-Resort in Urbanna, Gloucester Main Street businesses are joining forces on Friday to “Paint the Town Purple.”

Businesses will hold special sales promotions and other events, raising money for the Alzheimer’s Association and awareness about the deadly, crippling disease.

The following businesses are taking part: Yolanda’s (20 percent off), Split Enz (20 percent off), Smith’s Florist, Good Life Kitchen (10 percent off), Vashti’s (20 percent off, restrictions apply), Kelsick Market (10 percent off wine, restrictions apply; wine tasting beginning at 5 p.m.), Stewart Gallery (First Friday opening of exhibit of Lawrence Hollingsworth oil painting exhibit), Village Blacksmith (blacksmith demo from 4-7 p.m.) and Piccadilly Embroidery (show your support with the purchase of purple ALZ hat).
