Gloucester sponsors workshop designed to help local business owners

An Entrepreneur Express workshop to help local business owners prosper will be held from 9 a.m.-noon Tuesday, Nov. 9, at the Hampton Inn, Gloucester.

Douglas Meredith, Gloucester’s economic development director, said the EDA is sponsoring the event with the Gloucester County Chamber of Commerce. "EE," as the program is often called, will be an opportunity for businessmen to meet state development leaders who will offer tips that could make a business more profitable.

Kathy Dolan of the Virginia Department of Business Assistance will moderate the program and speak about the agency’s services. DBA promotes economic growth in the commonwealth by helping businesses to prosper, Meredith said, by "connecting businesses to experts that can provide an overview in a classroom setting … (plus) provide long-term resources."
