Gloucester Sheriff’s Office investigating burglaries of three used car dealerships

The Gloucester Sheriff’s Office is investigating three burglaries that occurred last week at local used car dealerships.

The GSO responded to an alarm at Hayes Auto Sales in the 2000 block of Route 17 at about 2:18 a.m. Thursday. Broken glass was found at a window and entry was made into the office of the business. An undisclosed amount of cash was removed from the office.

Officers responded Friday to Gemini Auto Sales in the 4000 block of Route 17, also in Hayes, for a burglary that occurred overnight. Forced entry was made to a window at the business and four vehicles and several Snap On tools were taken.Three of the vehicles were later recovered in the county, including a 2013 Nissan Altima that was located at Tillage Automotive where the third burglary occurred. A 2014 Chrysler 300 and a 2015 Nissan Sentra were located at the Gloucester Point Car Wash and a 2011 Nissan Murano has not been recovered.
