Gloucester MLK Day ceremony on Monday

The Gloucester Union Relief Association of Missionary Baptist Churches will honor the memory of slain civil rights leader Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. with its annual MLK Day service at 4 p.m. Monday at First United Baptist Church, Gloucester.

Dr. A. Lincoln James Jr., pastor of Richmond’s Trinity Baptist Church, will be guest speaker and the Zion Hill Baptist Church Choir will provide music. The public is invited to attend.

Dr. James entered the ministry in 1967. Prior to coming to Trinity, he was youth minister of the Greater Bethesda Baptist Church of Chicago, Illinois; and the pastor of Calvary Baptist Church of Kilmarnock, Tabernacle Baptist Church of Petersburg and Pleasant Grove Baptist Church of Prince George County.
